Carolina Looks Toward Homestand
After losing a heartbreaker to 2nd ranked Notre Dame, North Carolina's lacrosse team looks to three key home games to bounce back from a 2-2 start to the season.
Notre Dame defeated the Tar Heels 10-9 in three overtimes on Saturday in South Bend, Indiana giving 11th ranked UNC their second loss of the season.
Much like the UMass loss, Carolina held a three goal advantage in the 4th but were unable to hold the lead.
In the next two weeks, 12th ranked Princeton, 19th ranked Duke and Dartmouth come to Fetzer Field for games.
With games against top ranked Maryland, 3rd ranked Johns Hopkins and 6th ranked Virginia still on the schedule, this is a key stretch for the Tar Heels in positioning themselves for post season play.
Carolina has been led by Marcus Holman's 11 goals followed by Jimmy Bitter's 9. Joey Sankey has 8 goals for the UNC squad.
Kieran Burke has started in goal in all 4 games and has a 9.90 goals against average.
It will be a noon start on Saturday as the Tar Heels host the Princeton Tigers.
