The Tar Heel Volleyball team finished out their final two home games of the season in style, defeating Virginia Tech 3-0 and Virginia 3-1 over the weekend.
The 15th ranked Tar Heels defeated the Hokies (25-15, 25-21, 25-14) on Friday. Kayla Barringer had 10 kills while Victoria McPherson had 9 kills and 5 blocks in the match.
On Saturday, Carolina defeated Virginia on Senior night (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 26-24). It was the final home match for seniors Kaitlyn Anderson, Kayla Berringer and Jovana Bejlica. Victoria McPherson had 14 kills to lead the Tar Heels to the win. Ece Taner came up with 18 defensive digs on the day.
With the victories, the Tar Heels move to 24-3 on the season and 13-3 in the conference. They will close the regular season with 4 straight road games starting with N.C. State on Wednesday. Matches with Maryland, Wake Forest and Duke will follow.
