After losing 4 of 5, the 10th ranked Tar Heels baseball squad has put together back to back wins. Stepping out of conference they have logged back to back shut outs against East Carolina and on Wednesday defeating Winthrop 2-0.
Colin Moran returned from injury on Wednesday and homered driving in two runs in the game. Moran's homer was a solo shot that came in the 6th inning giving the Heels some insurance against the Eagles.
Hobbs Johnson went 4 innings in the game, earning the win and allowing only 2 hits. He moves to 3-1 on the season. Coach Fox liberally used his bullpen going with 6 pitchers on the day.
Carolina was only able to come up with 5 hits on the night but Colin Moran's return was huge going forward.
North Carolina starts a three game series against Boston College as their home stand continues on Friday. They move to 31-13 overall and still sit atop the Coastal Division of the ACC.
