The Men's soccer team bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a 4-1 victory over James Madison. The 4th ranked Tar Heels got off to a sluggish start but 3 second half goals capped the win. Enzo Martinez scored two goals and recorded an assist in the victory. Billy Schuler scored again (his 5th of the year) in the match. It was a physical match where 23 fouls were called. There were 7 yellow cards, 5 going to the Dukes and 2 to Carolina. The Heels will be on the road Friday against conference rival, Wake Forest.

The Men's golf team opened up Fall play in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the Wolverine Intercollegiate. They finished 5th out of 11 teams with California taking the title. Seniors Patrick Barrett and Matt Raudenbush finished at 4 over par along with freshman Bailey Patrick for a tie for 22nd place. Jace Long of Missouri won the individual title with a 7 under par, 206 for the tournament. The Tar Heels will be back in action September 26-27 in the VCU Shootout.

The Women's Golf team were also in action this week, finishing 2nd in the Cougar Classic. LSU took the title. Jackie Chang led the way for the Tar Heels finishing 6 under par for the tournament. North Carolina as a team finished 2 under par (286) for the event.  The Tar Heels will be back in action Sept. 23-25 at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview in Franklin, Tenn.
