North Carolina snapped a two game losing streak defeating Wake Forest 49-24.Giovani Bernard rushed for 154 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Tar Heels who move to 6-3 on the season.

Carolina rolled up 562 total yards on the day against the Deacons and the defense stepped up big picking off three Tanner Price passes on the day. Overall the Heels forced 5 turnovers turning 4 into scores.

Bryn Renner had another solid game passing, going 21/28 for 338 yards and 3 touchdown passes. Two of his touchdown passes went to Erik Highsmith who tallied 87 yards receiving while Dwight Jones rolled up 138 yards receiving on 6 catches.

After a quick start by North Carolina, Wake Forest cut their lead to 21-17 late in the third quarter. But the Tar Heels opened up a close game with 4 straight touchdowns and 21 points in the fourth quarter en route to the lopsided victory.

Wake Forest falls to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference. North Carolina becomes bowl eligible with the victory and move to 2-3 in the conference. They travel to Raleigh to face rival N.C. State next. They look to notch a victory against the Pack, something they have been unable to accomplish since Tom O'Brien took over as Wolfpack head coach.
