In the first home conference game of the year, North Carolina fell to Miami 68-59, and find themselves in an 0-2 hole in conference play. Kenny Kadji had 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Hurricanes to the victory and a 2-0 start in ACC play.

The Tar Heels struggled to score in the second half and finished the game shooting only 40 percent from the floor.

James Michael McAdoo had 14 points and 6 rebounds while Reggie Bullock finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds for North Carolina. Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige each scored 10 points in the game.

The Hurricanes found the range from the three point line in the second half finishing the game 9-26 from beyond the arch.

After trailing at halftime 32-30, Miami out scored the Heels 38-27 in the second half propelling them to the win. Julian Gamble scored 14 in the game while Durand Scott and Shane Larkin each had 11 for Miami who move to 11-3 on the season.

"Our kids have been doing some nice things in practice, we just haven't taken it from the practice court to the game court". Coach Roy Williams said after the game.

Miami held the Tar Heels to one field goal in a seven minute stretch late in the game and made some key blocked shots on Carolina shooters down the stretch.

North Carolina travels to Tallahassee on Saturday to face Florida State on Saturday in conference play.
