8th ranked Notre Dame came into Chapel Hill and upset the top ranked North Carolina Tar Heels Women's Soccer team, 1-0.
The lone goal was a Morgan Andrews header at the 21:55 mark.
The Irish held on despite being out shot by a 18-5 margin. The Heels had a 6-2 shots on goal margin as well.
The loss came in front of 3742 at Fetzer Field.
Carolina had some chances to tie, most notably a Crystal Dunn shot that bounced off the crossbar in the second period. Dunn was aggressive in the loss taking 7 shots with 4 on goal.
Notre Dame goal keeper, Kaela Little had 5 saves in the game.
The loss is the first for the Tar Heels whose record falls to 7-1. They start a three game road trip beginning on Wednesday at Florida State. They will face Miami and Pittsburgh before returning to Fetzer Field on October 6 against Maryland.
