It's Official, Fedora New Head Football Coach
The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Larry Fedora as new Head Coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Fedora comes to Chapel Hill from Southern Mississippi where he took his team to a 10-2 record this season and a trip to the Hawaii Bowl.
Fedora has been an assistant coach at Florida and Oklahoma State before becoming Head Coach at Southern Miss.
Fedora was officially introduced on Friday in a Press Conference in Chapel Hill. The University trustee's approved a 7 year contract worth 1.7 million dollars annually. There are several incentive bonuses in the deal including winning a division or conference championship, reaching a BCS game and high graduation rates.
Fedora promised an up tempo, no huddle offense, "You'd better buckle your seat belts and you better hold on because it's going to be a wild ride."
Several players attended the conference including quarterback Bryn Renner. Head basketball Coach, Roy Williams attended as well.
Interim Coach, Everett Withers will coach the Tar Heel bowl appearance in Shreveport as the Heels prepare for the Independence Bowl.
