The Carolina Men won a thriller, while the Women lost a tough one in mid week soccer action.

On Tuesday, the top ranked Men defeated Campbell in overtime 1-0. It took 97 minutes but a Raby George goal sent Carolina to the victory. George took a loose ball in front of the Campbell net and fired a shot that was deflected into the goal.

The Heels out shot the Camels 16-8 and also doubled them on corner kicks 6-3. Josh Rice had 5 shots while Omar Holness fired 4 shots in the game.

With the victory, Carolina remains unbeaten at 3-0-2. The Tar Heels go on the road to face Virginia Tech on Friday.

On Wednesday, the Carolina Women fell to Florida State 1-0. On a game seen on ESPNU, Jamia Fields came up with the game winner at the 82nd minute mark on a crossing shot from 18 yards out.

The 5th ranked Tar Heels out shot the Seminoles by a 17-10 margin with 9 shots on goal, but could not scratch the score card.. Kealia Ohai had 9 shots in the game with 4 on goal.

Kelsey Wys had 9 saves for Florida State.

The Tar Heels will look to rebound from back to back losses with a match up at Miami on Sunday, as their road trip continues. They are 7-2 on the season.
