The Tar Heel Women are coming off of a victory against Pittsburgh while the Men fought to a draw against Wake Forest, in soccer.

The 4th ranked Women took care of the Panthers on Thursday, 1-0. Paige Nielsen scored her 4th goal on the season with a tap in at the 8:18 mark of the game. Katie Bowen assisted Nielsen on the game winning goal. 

The Tar Heel women move to 9-2 overall on the season and 3-2 in conference play.

Meanwhile, the Tar Heel men traveled to Winston-Salem to face the Demon Deacons on Sunday. The top ranked Heels fought to a 1-1 draw. 

Josh Rice opened the scoring at the 25:27 mark, giving the Tar Heels a 1-0 advantage. They held the lead until Wake cashed in on a corner kick opportunity at the 89 minute mark. Jalen Robinson scored the equalizer for the Deacons.

North Carolina holds a 3-1-4 record overall and are 0-0-4 in the conference.

The Women are next in action on October 6, against Maryland. The Men will face Duke on Friday from Chapel Hill.
