The top ranked Tar Heels Men's Soccer team picked up a 2-1 win on Sunday against Boston University. Andy Craven and Martin Murphy each scored for the defending National Champions.

Craven scored first, it came at the 19:53 mark in the game. Verneri Valimaa set up Craven for a chip shot over Boston's goaltender, Nick Thomson.

There was no scoring until the 67 minute mark when Murphy struck. It came on a penalty kick and essentially iced the game for the Tar Heels.

Boston University got a late goal, at the 83 minute mark, to pull within one but could never find the equalizer. It was Dominique Badji with the lone goal.

The Tar Heels out shot the Terriers by a 19-13 advantage.

Scott Goodwin had 6 saves in goal for North Carolina. The win came in front of 1050 at Fetzer Field. Next up for the 3-0-0 Tar Heels is their ACC opener against Virginia Tech on Saturday at 7pm from Fetzer Field.
