Tajh Boyd threw for 5 touchdown passes and the Clemson Tigers moved to 8-0 with a 59-38 win on Saturday. It was a school record for touchdown passes thrown by Boyd.

The Tigers torched the Tar Heels defense in the third quarter scoring 35 points and opened up what was a competitive ball game. Carolina assisted Clemson with 6 turnovers on the day including and interception and a fumble return for scores by Kourtnei Brown.

Bryn Renner had one of his most difficult days of the season throwing 3 interceptions to just 2 touchdowns and Giovani Bernard was held to just 44 yards on the day. Jheranie Boyd had 95 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns and T.J. Thorpe had a 100 yard kickoff return for the Tar Heels, but this game was all Clemson.

DeAndre Hopkins caught 9 balls for 157 yards and a touchdown while Sammy Watkins had 8 receptions for 91 yards and a score for #7 Clemson. Boyd finished up with 367 yards passing on the day.

Carolina falls to 5-3 and 1-3 in the conference and will host Wake Forest next week.
