The still unbeaten and ranked 14th North Carolina volleyball team swept N.C. State in their ACC Opener on Wednesday. The Heels beat the Wolfpack, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

With the victory, North Carolina moves to 12-0 on the season, their best start ever.

Victoria McPherson and Leigh Andrew each had 9 kills in the match. Ece Taner had 14 defensive digs while Andrew added 13 to lead the Tar Heels.

1856 in attendance watched the Tar Heels improve their record at Carmichael Arena on Wednesday. 

It wasn't the most clean match of the season for North Carolina, who committed 9 errors in the first set and fnished with 19 for the match. But it was good enough to defeat a tough N.C. State team who came into the match at 9-3.

The Tar Heels have swept 6 out of their last 7 opponents.

Next up for North Carolina will be Notre Dame in the last match of a 10 match  streak played in Chapel Hill. They will hit the road for two ACC games after their Friday battle with the Irish. The Heels swept the Irish in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on August 30th.
