19th ranked North Carolina defeated Connecticut 2-0 in Women's Soccer on Friday. Summer Green scored and came up with an assist for the Tar Heels on the night.

Carolina, who is participating in the Notre Dame Adidas Invitational, get their first win of the season.

Green opened the scoring at the 27 minute mark with a shot from 35 yards out, giving the Tar Heels the edge. She set up teammate Brooke Elby at the 60 minute mark that provided some insurance.

The Huskies actually out shot North Carolina on the night and Carolina had 5 saves to Connecticut's 1.

Green returned to the squad after missing last weeks game while training with the USA under 17 national team.

The Tar Heels move to 1-1-1 on the season and will face Notre Dame on Sunday.
