The 7th ranked Tar Heels defeated Wake Forest in field hockey on Saturday. The victory improves UNC to 2-2 in conference and 10-2 overall.

The Heels scored 3 goals in the first 6 minutes of play and held off the feisty Deacs.

Emily Wold scored two of the early goals including the game winner at the 3 minute mark to lead the Tar Heels. 

Carolina out shot Wake Forest 28-14 in the game.

The Heels are back in action on Saturday against Boston College. It is the first of three home games at Henry Stadium.
