The North Carolina Women's soccer team advanced in the NCAA tournament in impressive fashion with a 4-0 victory over Liberty, from Fetzer Field. The 5th ranked Tar Heels will advance to the second round which will be played in Chapel Hill.

Kealia Ohai scored two goals and Summer Green assisted on two goals in the North Carolina victory.

Green set up Ohai for the first goal at the 14:56 mark, where Ohai finished from 10 yards out. The score did not change until the 50 minute mark where Ohai scored again from 15 yards. This opened the flood gates for the Tar Heels who capitalized on two more goals. Paige Nielsen and Cameron Castleberry finished the scoring.

The Tar Heels out shot the Flames by a 23-3 margin and led in corner kicks 6-1. Liberty was only able to get one shot on goal to North Carolina's 12.

With the victory, North Carolina will host the second and third rounds at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill beginning on Friday. Texas and Texas A&M both won first round games and will meet in Friday's first game.

North Carolina will face Indiana, who defeated Depaul, in the second game. Game time is 6 p.m. from Fetzer Field.
