Tyler Zeller continued his stellar play scoring 18 points and pulling down 18 rebounds and the Tar Heels overcome poor shooting to defeat Wake Forest 68-53,
North Carolina shot 31 percent from the field which included a lot of open looks but dominated the boards with 21 offensive rebounds.
John Henson scored 14 and grabbed 12 rebounds while Harrison Barnes chipped in 13 points for the game. Kendall Marshall had 6 assists to go with 14 points on the night. Reggie Bullock led a solid defensive effort as the Demon Deacons shot under 30 percent from the floor for the game.
The Tar Heels came out in the second half cold starting 1 for 13 from the field. They finished the game 4-19 from behind the 3 point arch. One bright spot, Carolina went 20-26 from the free throw line.
The win moves North Carolina to 19-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play. They head to College Park to take on Maryland on Saturday.
