Harrison Barnes scored 23 while Tyler Zeller poured in 17 and 8th ranked North Carolina defeated Georgia Tech 93-81.
Kendall Marshall was the floor general again dishing out 12 assists and getting the Tar Heels out on the break where they were effective. They were also solid from behind the three point line going 10-16 with Reggie Bullock and Barnes knocking down 3 each.
The game was never really close as North Carolina kept a lead that fluctuated from 17 to 23 most of the game until they called off the dogs towards the end.
Harrison Barnes did a nice defensive job on the Jackets Glen Rice, Jr. holding him to 4 points on 2-7 shooting. As a team the Tar Heels held Georgia Tech to 45.6% from the field.Mfon Udofia lead the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 16 on the night.
The Tar Heels extended their home winning streak to 31 straight.
Tyler Zeller had 17 points while John Henson contributed with 13 and North Carolina moves back to a tie for first place in the ACC at 5-1 and 18-3 overall. They will face two road games this week traveling to Wake Forest on Tuesday and Maryland on Saturday. Carolina will enter that road stretch having won 12 out of their last 13 games.
