Weather Doesn't Dampen Tar Heel Spirits
The Football Scrimmage set to take place at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte was cancelled due to lightning in the area, but the team turned things into an impromptu autograph session. Fans were able to get autographs and mingle with the players inside the school.
It was a good turnout to the event by Tar Heel Nation some who came to see the homecoming of quarterback Marquise Williams who played at Mallard Creek while in High School.
Coach Larry Fedora emphasized the importance of Charlotte in the recruiting scene, “We’ve got to do a great job in Charlotte, there are a lot of great football players in the Charlotte area and it’s going to be a point of emphasis for us to do a better job with it.”
There are three scholarship players on the Tar Heel roster from Mecklenburg County. Aside from Williams, Miller Snyder of Myers Park High and Peyton Jenest who played at North Mecklenburg High School.
