It was a busy weekend for Tar Heel soccer. On Friday, the Men played to a draw against Duke. On Sunday, the Women defeated Maryland.

4592 fans watched Carolina and Duke battle to a 0-0 draw on Friday night. North Carolina were the aggressors in the game out shooting the Blue Devils 20-6 but could not cash in for a goal. After 110 minutes, neither team could score.

Both had opportunities to break into the scoring column but attempts were thwarted. Brendan Moore picked up his 5th shutout of the season, in goal for the Tar Heels.

The Men go to 3-1-5 on the season and 0-0-5 in conference play. They will face Clemson on Tuesday from Fetzer Field.

Meanwhile, on Sunday the Women improved to 10-2 and 4-2 in the ACC with a 3-1 victory over Maryland at Fetzer.

Summer Green, Kealia Ohai and Satara Murray all scored in the game. But it was Maryland scoring first on a Lauren Berman goal just 17 seconds into the contest. But Summer Green evened things up at the 20 minute mark on a penalty kick. It was Ohai coming up with the game winner at the 57 minute mark with a goal from the right side of the box. Murray added the insurance goal later in the game.

The Tar Heels out shot the Terps 19-4 on the day.

With the win, the 6th ranked Tar Heels take their third straight conference game. They will host N.C. State at Fetzer Field on Thursday.
