Thank you for visiting CarolinaVictory.com. We are just going online and are in our infant stages but we invite you to check back frequently and grow with us as we discuss all things Carolina.
Those close to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill refer to it as "Blue Heaven". Whether it be nestled between the pine trees on a Fall afternoon in Kenan Stadium, a beautiful Spring day next to the Old Well with Azaleas in bloom or a brisk Winter night on Franklin Street celebrating another successful outing at the Dean Dome, it certainly is a little slice of heaven.
As the oldest State University in the Country, the University of North Carolina is rich with tradition and that has carried on to it's athletics as well. I still enjoy witnessing someone enter the Smith Center for the first time and gaze in awe at the jerseys and banners in the rafters. Jersey's hanging in the rafters such as Michael Jordan's number 23, Tyler Hansbrough's 50, Phil Ford's 12 don't even begin to scratch the surface of arguably the most successful college basketball program of the last 100 years. It is a mecca of college basketball royalty presented in the confines of a building named for the man who took Carolina basketball, as well as College basketball to another level while coach.
You cannot speak about UNC without mentioning their women's soccer program, the most successful program in women's soccer history, a program who won 20 of the first 28 National Championships played. The same program who introduced legends such as Mia Hamm to America. Other great Champions who played sports at Carolina include the likes of Davis Love III, Lawrence Taylor, Raymond Floyd and Jim Beatty, to name a few.It is my goal to present the most thorough coverage of UNC athletics here and I encourage you to visit frequently and join in on discussions. There is a lot of activity going into the Fall. The Tarheels have a new football coach, and Roy Williams' squad will have a target on their backs as the favorite to cut down the nets again this basketball season.
I appreciate your support and look forward to your participation and interaction in the site.
"Carolina Priceless Gem, receive all praises thine."
