The Tar Heels Women Lacrosse team clinched their 5th ACC Regular Season Championship and a perfect conference season as they defeated Maryland 14-11.

The 4th ranked Tar Heels jumped out to a 5 goal lead and held off a Terrapin run to secure the victory at Fetzer Field. Kara Cannizzaro scored 5 times in the game while Abbey Friend found the net 4 times to lead North Carolina.

North Carolina out shot the Terps 28-22 and controlled ground balls 17-8 in the game.

Katie Schwarzmanr scored 4 times for Maryland with an assist, to lead the visitors.

With the victory, North Carolina moves to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. They will finish up the regular season with a road game at Northwestern on Friday followed by the ACC Tournament in Durham.
