The Tar Heels Women Volleyball team won twice in the Western Michigan Invitational on Saturday defeating Seton Hall 3-0 and Liberty 3-1.
Carolina had 51 kills on 97 attempts in the Seton Hall match with only 8 errors. Kayla Berringer, Tia Gaffen and Emily McGee all had double digit kills in the match. The Heels took care of Seton Hall, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.
Against Liberty, North Carolina won 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 28-30, 25-20). Kayla Berringer had 23 kills which was a career high. Chaniel Nelson chipped in 13 kills as the Tar Heels won the Western Michigan Invitational.
North Carolina moves to 4-1 on the season and will host the Carolina Classic beginning on September 9. San Diego, Georgia Southern and Arizona State are in the field.
